5Overall very pleased - got what I paid for.Jan 08, 2011

When I looked at the review for other colors of this exact product, I saw a range of opinions. What I look for in these rating is what the 'theme' of complients/compliments were. I concluded was that a product doesn't get a number of top ratings by accident unless it has the potential of being good (or a company trying to stack the deck). However for the price (along with free shipping) and knowing I can return for refund, I gave it a chance. I saw the review write by some stating that they work for the company and gave a set of simple install directions (one of the top complaints being no able to install). I followed those instructions (not even reading the instruction in the box - it did a VERY poor job of how to install) and everything worked perfectly! Here are the instructions again:

1. Plug device into your computer.
2. Press the "middle" button to get to the USB connect.
3. The program will install and then you will need to restart your computer.
4. Go to "My Computer" and click on the "DPFMate" to open software.
5. Open the Folder with the images that you wish to transfer. Drag and drop your images to the "Preview" box. Images will be converted from JPEG to BMPS and be placed in the queue to be transferred.
6. Hit "Download" to sync files.
7. Supports: JPEG, JPG and BMP files.

In the software, you can open the jpeg file and it shows the crop square. Some of my photo when cropped square cut-off people faces or other important things. So I went into Photoshop, increased the 'canvass' size of the photo to make the rectangular image more square like and resaved. Then open that new file in the software.

The image quality is fair but for the price - what do you expect? It good enough for 1-4 people faces but as the group gets larger, it gets harder to see individual. I don't see this as a negative - if you want hi-res, buy something bigger and much more expensive! I plan on buying more of these for friends and clients (I do porfessional photography on the side.) The packaging for this product was in a nice case making the product 'appeaer' more expensive than it was.
